behind the scenes of the Pattern Anthology Video

pattern anthology

We had a blast shooting the Pattern Anthology Video! It was the very first day we’d all been together in the same room. The first time I even met Shauna and Andrea in real life! The stars aligned and we were all in Salt Lake at the same time (for ALT, so not really stars aligning, but making them align for us). So since we were all together we knew we had to take the opportunity to do something really epic!

The Pattern Anthology concept has always been hard for me to explain in a sentence or two. Since the idea of collaborating in this way was totally new, it just got confusing. It’s not really, it’s pretty simple: 4 designers designing collections together twice a year. But there is so much more! We live in different states, we’ve never actually met (now we have!) and we have this innovative side project making sewing patterns. The video has all that info and you also get to see the dynamics of our personalities and how we work together. We are thrilled with it! Thank you to Collin Kartchner films for putting it together!

We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to the video! Thank you for watching it! Anyways, today I wanted to share a little behind the scenes peek at the making of the video.

We shot the video in one day. We had about 7 or 8 hours before catching flights and things like that. So it was a packed day!

Basically Frank came to help us out. I have the coolest college roommates ever. They do hair and makeup and blog about it plys DIY, design and organizing at Basically Frank. Oh and they are all gorgeous and so REAL! Thank you Marianne, Julie and Kelsey!!

This is our interview set up. I went first, eek! Melissa asked me questions. We practiced beforehand so we didn’t crack up the whole time. ^^pattern anthology pattern anthology pattern anthology

Alexia was our “cover girl” for the collection. She blogs at Lexi Made and is a great seamstress!pattern anthology

At the same time as we were filming we had other girls in the basement shooting photos. It was a really productive day and so much fun!

If you haven’t watched the video you can find it here.

And the collection ends today so buy it here!

Great video! I loved getting to see each of your personalities and hearing how you came together to execute these collections. Starting on my first City Girl tunic tonight!!
