1. Find some words you like and rip the pages out of your old dictionary.
I started with ‘shoe {shoo} n. pl. shoes 1. an outer covering, usually of leather, for the human foot.’
2. Cut them up into small strips. The thinner ones are easier to lay flat on the shoes.
3. Decoupage the strips to your shoes until all the white parts are covered. Make sure to keep it smooth and to layer lots of that mod podge all over.
4. Ta-da! Let them dry.
Indubitable-y a great way to use an old dictionary!
Plus, if you get bored, you can take them off and learn something new!
When they are done drying wear them around for a day, so they crack in the places you move the most. (Note: I did not mean to put ‘Tuberculosis’ on my shoes…I may have left that out if I was actually looking. ‘Magnolia,’ however, can stay.)
Add another layer of mod podge. Now your dictionary definitions will flex with your foot!
So verbose.
last week, i seriously did that with an old map! it’s a Christmas prez for my little sis. I’ll post about it sometime. love these smart shoes!
Oh, you gave me a good laugh. Every writer needs a pair of these. One author I know wears a well-worn jacket when he sits down to write. I could wear shoes–dictionary shoes. I will copy author, computer, delete, rejection and sold!
Those are adorable! Tuberculosis comment – hilarious. Hey, nobody will read your shoe that closely – if they do, they have way too much time on their hands!
I am visiting from a life made lovely and have to say that these are LOVELY!
