And when you aren’t celebrating a holiday or birthday, you can wear it as a headband!
I sewed it onto a piece of elastic. And then took this photo myself. I hate modeling! But an elastic band also makes it way easy to put on a present.
Here’s how to make this:
1. Start with two long pieces of fabric 2.5″ by 42″ long. Sew them into two long tubes at 1/4″ and cut to these sizes:
3- 11″
3- 9″
2- 7″
1- 4″
2. Turn them inside out
3. Make each strip into a figure 8 shape and pin in the middle. They should look like this:
4. Make the smallest piece into a circle.
5. Sew down the middle to keep the figure 8 shape.
6. Stack ’em up, sewing them together by hand as you go. The biggest pieces go first and smallest last.
super cute project!!
Great minds think alike! I made headbands with the gift bows out of ribbon for my girls last week! I’m working on a post for them this morning. How funny!!

Man I wish I could sew!!! And even before I scrolled down I thought to myself that it would make a darling headband. I really like the fabric you chose too. I am going to feature this tomorrow. Thanks for linking this up today!
I love that so, so much! The fabric is perfect as well.
Love this idea!! The fabric is so cute, but I think I’ll try using felt, as I’m a little short on sewing time this week :)
Thank you for your wonderful tutorial!
Girl!!!! I am featuring these bows tomorrow as a Tell me Tuesday FAVE. This was a tough toss up, because I also love your ornament necklace. ;-)
