Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing
This book is just really fun and simple. The projects are designed for beginners, but are useful and unique. If you are ever in a rut and thinking you are no good at sewing, pick up one of these projects and you’ll feel better when you finish.
I have made quite a few of the reversible aprons since they are perfect for gifts.
This drawstring backpack is also a fun project.
This isn’t a sewing book, but if you’re looking to turn your craft into a business I would recommend this book. It is full of advice from successful crafters and things you may not have thought about when marketing and branding your business. Plus the pages are colorful and pretty.
There’s a little stack from my sewing bookshelf. I’ll share some of my other favorites in future sewing 101 posts. Until then, check out the rest of the sewing 101 posts here.
