Today’s guest is Susan from Living with Punks! Susan is always coming up with something crafty and fun to share, she shines in sewing and decorating! I haven’t stopped thinking about this Diamond Tufted Headboard since she posted it. She also recently hosted a fun sew-a-long and this mondo pom pom pillow is totally on my to-do list!
I too love ruffles, just like Kate. I mean, who doesn’t really…they just make things happier. When I wear ruffles, I think I probably have a little bit more bounce in my step… they just do that. Add more bounce!
I had so many ideas in my head about this post, but finally settled on these ruffle-bottomed capris, and boy am I glad I did! I can’t stop making them! And little punk loves wearing them…she definitely has lot’s of bounce :)
My obsession with making them turned out several different types of knit. They all worked really well, but I think my favorite fit is with the jersey. It’s a thinner material and buttery soft, perfect for a running and bouncing. The ponte roma is a luxurious knit and I’m reserving those capris for a special occasion. The interlock capris will be perfect for running on the beach (pics coming soon on my site). Hope that info helps you when picking out knits for this pattern!

- Sugarplum Capri template (4 pieces), taped together and cut *front and back pictured above*
- 1/4” seam allowance
Cut the pieces pictured above. Make sure you keep your main pieces (front, back and waistband) with the grain
Thanks for having me Kate, I truly enjoyed making these for your series! Happy making!
