How to sew a reading glasses case
Cut 1 piece from fabric with a flap and 1 without using main fabric that has already been interfaced.
Cut the same from your lining fabric, interfacing is optional.
Sew the main pieces together with right sides together along the bottom and side edges. Repeat with the lining fabric, leaving a small opening in one side.
Clip the corners. Then turn the lining fabric right sides out.
Slip the lining (right side out) into the main fabric (inside out) so that the flap matches up and right sides are facing each other. Sew around the flap and glasses opening. Clip into the seam allowance where shown to help you maneuver around the opening.
Use pinking shears to notch and trim the seam allowance around the flap. You can do this with regular sewing scissors, too, just be sure not to clip over the seam. Turn rightside out through the hole you left in the lining. Before pushing the lining into the glasses case, press the lining edges well and then topstitch over the opening.
Then push the lining into the main fabric and press well, focusing on the flap. Fold over the flap and put in a KAM snap as your closure.
And you’re done!
