The template makes this project a little bit easier, but you can also use the measurements listed in the tutorial below.

How to Sew a Skillet Handle Cover
Cut 6 strips of fabric measuring 1.5-2″ wide and about 7″ long. I cut 2 strips 1.5″ and 4 that are 2.”
Sew them together and press the seam allowances in one direction.

Use spray baste to stick the striped panel to 2 layers of batting. Use baste spray in between the two batting layers, too. Topstitch 1/8″ from the seams.

Use the pattern piece to trim the panel, or use the measurements 6″ wide x 7.5″ tall.

Cut out a layer from the lining fabric using the same pattern piece.

Sew the lining to the main panel with right sides together as shown.

Open and press seam allowance towards the lining. Then topstitch along the lining, 1/8″ from the seam, with the seam allowance underneath.

Fold the whole thing over, matching the long edges with right sides together. Sew around the open edges with a 1/4″ seam allowance, leaving a 1-2″ opening in the lining side.

Clip the corners and turn right side out. Topstitch over the opening in the lining.

Push the lining into the main and then sew around the open edge to secure.
