My pregnant self and I went to Portland last weekend for Spring Quilt Market! It was a total blast, as always, but it was my first time presenting a fabric line in a booth. So, it was extra fun! It was also my first time at a Spring Quilt Market, in the past I have been to Fall which is always held in Houston. Quilt Market is a twice-a-year convention where fabric shop owners come to purchase new fabric lines! It is really a huge celebration of creativity and sewing that is always fun to be a part of. Like ComicCon for sewing nerds!
In the past month I’ve been busy making all these things to put in the booth which has led to a little bit less blogging, but that means there is lots to come! I only have a bit of sample yardage right now, the bolts start shipping to stores in July!
It is always a thrill to sew with fabric I’ve designed. I love having total control over a project and have found myself designing patterns around the fabric and fabric around patterns. Inspiration always works both ways for me.
Kiss Me, Kate is my new makeup-inspired line with prints such as Falsies, Lipstick Tubes, Lips, and a few apparel-worthy coordinates like a polka dot bow (Polka Bow), Offbeat Houndstooth and Nail Polish Stripe! You can see a little peek of them all here and sign up to know when it is available to ship! I had a lot of fun designing this line and have had even more fun sewing with it. This line is printed by Riley Blake Designs, they pride themselves on producing the highest quality cottons, so I’m thrilled my designs are printed that way.
This line is all quilting cottons (sorry knit-lovers!) but wovens were my first true love! I do have lots of apparel projects coming with this line. As stated above, 3 of these prints were designed especially for apparel (though you better believe I’m making a Lip dress STAT when I get more yardage!) There are 6 total prints in 3 color ways each – SO MUCH FABRIC!
I think makeup is a totally underrated form of art, and also one of the first universal forms of art! So this collection is a celebration of that. I threw my favorite colors in this line – soft pink, coral, lavender, black + white + grey and a few of my favorite colors that I pulled straight from my makeup bag – a great orange/red and vibrant purple.
Kiss Me, Kate filled up most of my booth, but you might see some DOLLS in there! New doll panels are coming in December of this year! These dollies are a printed panel that come with a big doll and a little sister doll + skirts and bows on 1 yard of fabric. You just cut, sew and stuff! More on that later!
Hope you enjoyed this little tour!

I have to find your doll fabric. I am in love with it!!! Super cool way of celebrating your talents by making fabrics.
Please let me know where I might get a preview panel of your doll fabric.

Loved your booth! The lips quilt is splendid. Hope to sew some of your dolls. Thanks for sharing.
