Dog Bed Sewing Pattern Instructions
Sew 7 squares together in a row.
Sew 5 rows of 7 blocks. Press seam allowances from the rows in opposite directions.
Then sew the rows together to create one big panel.
Back your panel with fusible interfacing. Then spray baste batting to the back. Quilt the layers of the fabric together by topstitching on both sides of the seams, 1/4″ from the seam.
Cut the backing fabric to match the top panel (approximately 23″ x 32″) and use spray baste to adhere batting to the back. Use the patchwork panel as a pattern piece if you don’t want to measure.
Lay the backing face down on the patchwork panel and sew together with a 1/2″ seam allowance. Leave an opening on one edge.
Clip the corners and turn the dog bed right side out. Then stuff with stuffing to give it a little bit of body. Once you have stuffed it to your liking, pin the opening closed and topstitch about 1/8″ from the edge of the fabric. Backstitch at both ends. Clip threads and you’re done!
