Today I wanted to get you some more details and specifications for the Garden Party collection! I have also updated the listings with the info in this post: line drawings, sizing, measurements and yardage. All of the patterns come in size XXS to XL, for busts 30″-44″.
The Emaline dress and top is a knit pattern so it may fit larger sizes. I recommend full bust adjustments for the woven patterns if you are a size D cup or above. The FBA is a quick pattern alteration that will make patterns really flattering for you lucky busty women!
All of the sleeves in this collection can be swapped between patterns. (Except the Emaline, since it is knit!) There are 6 swappable sleeves total, the little cap sleeve from the Callie, the ruffle sleeve from the Callie, the wide cap sleeve from the Maia, the angled cap sleeve from the Adelaide, the half sleeve with elastic from the Olive, and the short sleeve from the Sophie. That means you can make dozens of unique tops and dresses all from these six patterns!
The Adelaide top requires lightweight fabric. I can’t stop making them in Chambray, that is really what I designed the top for. But that also means anything like chambray will work. Cottons and lightweight linen, broadcloth, quilting cotton, voile, etc. I’d love to try this in a print, so far I have only made solids, but some of my testers were successful with cute prints.
Materials:
-lightweight fabric
-ruffle trim (or use fabric, pattern pieces included)
-shank button (button with a plastic or metal loop on the back, no holes through front)
-round elastic for loop
-lightweight interfacing for neckline facing.
The Callie top also works with lightweights. This top is very feminine so feel free to use some fabrics like eyelets, lace, or other flowy fabrics for it! Dress it up or down with your fabric choice!
Materials:
-lightweight fabric
-bias tape 1/2″
-8-10 small buttons, 1/2″
The Emaline dress also has a top version. You can make the bow in any material, even woven fabrics, so have fun pairing fabrics! This dress has side pockets, too. I recommend knits such as cotton spandex, ponte and interlock.
Materials:
-knit fabric with at least 30% stretch
-contrast for bow
-lightweight fusible interfacing for bow
The Olive dress is great for soft, drapey fabrics like crepe de chine, georgette, viole and lawn. The collar can be made in contrast fabric. I recommend cotton for the collar, especially pima or broadcloth.
Materials:
-lightweight fabric
-bias tape 1/2″
-1/2″ and 1/4″ elastic
-contrast for collar
-lightweight fusible interfacing for collar
The Sophie Shift is a retro style shift with two mod pockets and a pointed collar. This requires lightweight fabric, but works best with fabric that isn’t too drapey.
Materials:
-lightweight fabric
-bias tape 1/2″
-14″ zipper
-1 yard 1/2″ or 1″ ribbon for bow
-contrast fabric for collar
-lightweight fusible interfacing for collar
The Maia dress also has a top version. This design works in a little bit sturdier fabrics, so feel free to use lightweights, quilting cottons and similar fabrics. This is a quick and easy sew!
Materials:
-light or midweight fabric
-bias tape 1/2″
-10″ invisible zipper
-fabric for collar
-lightweight fusible interfacing for collar
