Scrap Map

Grab 50 of your favorite fabric scraps because you will HAVE to make this one! I originally thought of this idea 11 years ago and it has been a favorite item in my home! Here’s my original! So cute!

I made another one to share with you and it was just as fun!

Download the templates by clicking on the pink button below:

Here’s what you’ll need!

  • 1/2 yard canvas or quilting cotton background fabric, solid or low volume print
  • 20-50 small fabric scraps
  • Heat N Bond Ultrahold (red package for NO SEW – no topstitching) or Purple LITE package for topstitching
  • Thread for topstitching, optional
  • 16 x 20 painting canvas for hanging OR a photo frame OR use the panel for a project like a pillow!
  • Sewing machine, iron, sewing scissors and other sewing supplies

And then watch the video in this post or head to the tutorial below:

Fabric Scrap Beaded Bracelets

Here’s a super easy and fun project for leftover strips of fabric! These are fabric and bead bracelets that require only a little strip of torn fabric and some beads!

fabric scrapbusters

Fabric Scrap + Bead Bracelet Materials

  • Large embroidery or yarn needle (affiliate links) – with a large eye and blunt tip
  • Beads with large holes
    • Classic pony beads
    • Star, heart, butterfly pony beads
    • Square letter beads
    • Colored square letter beads

To make these, cut a strip of fabric about 1/2″ wide. The easiest way to do this is to clip the end of your fabric and tear. Make sure you even the fabric up with a tear first, see the video! Then tie a knot and thread the fabric through your needle’s eye. Thread as many beads on as you wish and then tie another knot!

Appliqué Letters – Scrappy Name Pillow

This personalized name pillow uses lots of pretty scraps and is a great gift to make for someone you love! You can customize this pillow easily – change the font, colors or dimensions easily!

Custom Name Pillow Materials

  • Fabric scraps
  • 3/4 yard fabric for backing, here’s the star print I used (affiliate links)
  • Heat N Bond Lite
  • Quilt batting
  • Baste spray
  • Scalloped pinking shears
  • 18″ or 20″ pillow form
