I’m on a patternmaking frenzy! After making dinosaurs for Little C’s first birthday party, I decided to make most of his Christmas presents. Buying things for kids is so fun. But making things for kids is so much MORE fun! And more special, I think. And he’s only 1 so he doesn’t have a huge commercialized Christmas list yet. I’m embracing this. So anyways, that’s why there has been a flood of toys patterns lately. One more in the works! It’s only September but Christmas is coming!! (yay!)
This little pattern is the rick rack owl! A friendly little owl with big bug eyes, wavy rick rack feathers and flappable wings! This owl is a perfect afternoon project! You’ll love making them, I promise! I’ve already made a hoard. I picked out a few to go under the tree and the rest are in the shop. I’m hoping Little C will fly these owls around the house like superheros when he opens them. I’m going to tell him they have super powers! This owl is best buds with the happy hedgehog.

That’s so funny that you said Christmas! I was @ Toy R Us checking out the FAO Schwartz stuff and saw a dinosaur rock case thingy that came with a bunch of dinosaurs and I thought I could use Kate’s dinosaur pattern to make this for B for Christmas!
