Let’s sew! These sewing projects are made with items from the Dollar Tree! These 5 Dollar Tree Sewing Projects are inexpensive and so useful!
I love shopping at the Dollar Tree for sewing supply hacks but this post is all about projects you can make with things you find there!
Dollar Tree Sewing Projects – Slap Bracelet Wrist Pincushion
This is a super fun project that uses slap bracelets! I loved slap bracelets as a kid and, to be honest, I still love them. They are just so fun and I mean how does it do that!?! These bracelets are a great base to a wrist pincushion because the bracelet part is thick enough to protect your wrist from pokes and it’s easy to put on.
I used my own medium-weight interfacing and hot glue although I think some dollar stores have those items, too.
- Slap Bracelets (party favor section)
- Fat Quarter (craft aisle) or scraps
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Interfacing
- Hot glue
- Printable pattern, see below
This is a simple project – see the video in this post for the instructions!
Applique Hand Towel
Applique hand towels are quick to make and make a fun gift! Change them out for holidays to spruce up your bathroom!
The hand towel and fat quarters are available at the dollar store. I also used Heat N Bond Ultra (red bag) from the craft store. See the video in the post for the tutorial!

- Fat Quarter (craft section)
- Heat N Bond

Faux Fur Pom Pom
I didn’t know the Dollar Tree carried faux fur! This is a great deal for a small piece of faux fur just the right size for little projects. There were a few colors at my store and I chose a teddy bear brown. I put mine on top of a beanie, also from the dollar store. You can also make it a keychain!
You will also need stuffing which I haven’t see at the Dollar Tree plus a hand sewing needle and embroidery thread.
- Faux Fur (craft section)
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Hand sewing needle
- Embroidery floss or thick thread
- Printable pattern, see below
Flannel Hand Warmers
This is a great project if your store has flannel! Reusable hand warmers are a great project for winter!
The flannel I found is 100% cotton which is what is needed for this project to be microwaveable. You can also heat the hand warmers up in the dryer.
See the full hand warmers tutorial here.
- Flannel fat quarter (craft section)
- Rice for filling (food aisle)
- 100% cotton thread
- Funnel (kitchen aisle)
- Printable pattern, see below
The Dollar Tree also has rice, but you can use it from your pantry if you already have some. *Just make sure you use uncooked rice, not minute rice!
Fabric covered coasters
I found these 4.5″ square wood planks and knew they would be a great way to showcase my cute flamingo fabric as coasters! All the items I used in this project are from the Dollar Tree and all on the crafts aisle.
- Wooden blanks
- Fat quarters
- Mod Podge
- Paintbrush
