I was really excited when Silhouette sent me some of their new printable foils! It’s just so pretty. I thought immediately about making polka dot rain boots. (I should get over this polka dot thing, but whatever. I love them.)
I cut out a lot of little polka dots with shiny silver foil and stuck them on.
Here’s what the file in Silhouette studio (the software comes with the machine) looks like. I made .5″ diameter circles with the circle tool and just cut a whole bunch. Not in a polka dot pattern, just so there would be lots!
It was that easy!
The foil is really thick and nice. I think it will stay on nicely. But…if I ever get sick of polka dots (yeah right) I think I could peel them off, too.
And now I’m ready for the rain!
I didn’t use the foil to it’s fullest extent though, you can print on the foil first to make cute labels and things. So I’m excited to do that soon!
eat. sleep. MAKE.
Love these! I have a cameo too…what a great use of the foil!

Very very cool. Unfortunately I dont have a machine so will have to find some other way of doing this.
