Lifestyle crafts is releasing more dies today, a new line called Big Top! I love their stuff and really love finding creative ways to use ordinary die cuts. I wanted to incorporate their new line into fabric, so I made them into stencils! It’s really easy and with all the dies available, the possibilities are endless!
I used my basic zipper pouch tutorial to finish the pouches, but I’ll show you how to stencil onto the front pieces and then add ruffles
Run the pennants though your die cutting machine using the contact paper. It makes a sticky stencil! Stick it on where you want it on your zipper pouch front. Use paint to stencil in the pennants.
Peel it off while it is still wet and let it dry. Done! So easy!
Add a ruffle at the top of the zipper pouch and finish it normally.
Or try putting a ruffle down from top to bottom. I used the glasses die for this!
I made the backs a little crazy with prints. Alexander Henry on the left, Lotta on the right.
And that’s how you make a basic zipper pouch a little less-than-basic! I always recommend zipper pouches as a confidence building project. Add a ruffle or two and it will be extra confidence building!
