fix an awkward neckline with a ruffle

Welcome to See Kate Sew! If you’re new here, sign up for my email newsletter for access to free patterns, tutorials and all the latest sewing news! Tour my sewing room HERE!

Let’s talk about awkward necklines today. The ones that are sorta low but not too low. I have this dress that is not quite too low, but it just hits a weird part of my back and is just uncomfortable in the front. It is uncomfortable to wear alone, but I love the dress too much to wear a cardigan over it. So I fixed the awkward square neckline with a ruffle. It’s an easy fix and adds a little punch.

Done! Now enjoy your new comfortable dress!

Don’t I look so happy?

i love this! one of my favorite shirts has a square neckline like that, so I can’t just wear a tank under it to make it modest because it’s too wide. I think i might have to do this!

sorry to do this, but i do (also) remember that item of clothing, this is a much more stylish than a tank underneath

You look so happy and really beautiful! What an amazing tutorial, almost all my tops are too low and I have to wear something underneath them, I’m just too short!! thanks so much.

I think that will be a perfect fix for a dress I have with a square neckline.
