This post was written by Jaime from C.R.A.F.T. (Creating Really Awesome Free Things). Jaime is probably one of the very first craft bloggers I started following. She is awesome herself and also has a second website called Really Awesome Costumes! Today Jamie is sharing a cute ruffle nursery art project!
Hi y’all! I’m super excited to be part of Kate’s Ruffles 2013 series! I’m a super novice sewer, like you don’t want me to sew anything you might wear n public. It would be bad. I do love to try and I’m certainly getting better. So, today’s ruffle craft is super simple, and I promise anyone can make it!
All you need is an old t-shirt with a fun pattern, 3 frames, a black pen, grey card stock, and your sewing machine! I literally just chopped off the bottom 3 stripes from this old t-shirt and turned it into a ruffle on my sewing machine. That one ruffle made all three pieces above!
After I sewed the one long ruffle, I shaped it into a “C”, and sewed it to my card stock. I used the scraps to make a tiny skirt and the ruffle decoration on the 3rd frame! E.A.S.Y.
Then I used my black pen to write the words “dream big little one” and also to draw on the hanger and t-shirt to the tiny outfit. I think these little frames would look darling in a nursery! Don’t you?
Enjoy your fun new DIY art work!
