The mermaid baby gown pattern was originally designed just as an everyday clothing item, it never really dawned on me that it could also be a costume! But with one sister as a big mermaid, one sister as a shark, (and a brother as a vampire - irrelevant ;) ) it only make sense to use the Baby Gown pattern to make a DIY baby mermaid costume! I used the perfect mermaid scale fabric for this - it's super soft brushed poly. I also made a coordinating headband to go with it. It's a nice, soft, comfortable "costume" that I'll definitely use after ...Continue Reading

If you've seen any of my other LOL craft posts, you could maybe see this one coming - a DIY LOL doll costume! The skirt and bows are handmade and the other pieces are from my daughter's closet or amazon! This pleated skirt tutorial can come in handy for lots of different Halloween costumes, but I'm also kicking myself for not making a bunch sooner - it's so cute and simple to ...Continue Reading

With a new baby in the house, YouTube is our friend these days. This baby shark costume DIY is super easy, too! You can start with a hoodie and sweatpants, or make them from scratch using a pattern. I included templates for the shark pieces - the teeth you add to the hood, the fin in the back and the tail! The front has iron-on vinyl with ...Continue Reading

DIY Maternity Wrap Dress Maxi
I've been meaning to make a DIY maternity wrap dress this whole pregnancy and finally snuck it in a few weeks before it's over! I will have to make sure to wear it a lot in the coming weeks - although this style of dress is also perfect for nursing! Since I didn't make the skirt super extra billowy, I think it will look great and not really like a maternity dress without the belly! I loved DIYing my own wrap dress because I could make sure the front didn't dip too low. I think a common problem with wrap dresses is they show too much in the ...Continue Reading
Manhattan Girl’s Top with Kiss Me Kate!
More Kiss Me, Kate girl clothing today! I took these photos months ago and am finally getting them all posted! These pictures features the Manhattan girl's top, which is the girls version of the Soho top! I used Lips Main in pink and Polka Bow in purple for this top. They are a nice and light pairing, the purple in polka bow is pulled from some of the lips in the main print. This particular color of lavender has always been one of my favorite colors ever and also one of my everyday lip colors, hah! Surround me in lavender and I"m ...Continue Reading
