Sewing 101: Simple Front Pocket Tutorial
I'm continuing Recess Raglan week into a second week, but only for 2 more days! I had more to share! Today is another pocket option, the simple front pocket tutorial! You can really add this to any pattern, it's a simple sewing skill that can add a lot to any garment. I love using pockets for accent fabric, especially if you have a little scrap of fabric lying around that you can't bear to part with. After I made this shirt, I wasn't quite sure about the scale of the pocket to the shirt, this one might be a little too big. But it is ...Continue Reading

UNBIASED /// The GWEN dress, top (And SKIRT!)
I wanted to properly introduce my new pattern, the GWEN, with all of the versions that I sewed for myself. This pattern is available in the Unbiased Collection bundle which is on sale until tomorrow. First, I made a white textured dress with pleather accents! Pleather at the shoulders, placket and sleeves! I used the cap sleeve, which works with the pleather, though you can see that it is a little tight. I wouldn't try pleather sleeves with the longer sleeve options, though! I love the big white pearly buttons that I ...Continue Reading
Look #7: BOUND fabric Gwen Top
I've been sewing so many Gwen tops/dresses/skirts lately. This is my contribution to the Unbiased Collection. There are just so many options, I really put almost everything in this pattern to make it the perfect basis for sewing your own capsule wardrobe! The most basic option is a basic tee without the placket. It's nice and fitted so it works for any occasion, dressy or casual. The neckband is thicker than most neckbands. There are 3 sleeve options so it works for all seasons! I made this top is Art Gallery knit fabric by April Rhodes. ...Continue Reading
UNBIASED // The Diamond Dress

Don't forget, there are just THREE days left to purchase the Unbiased Bundle! Then the super low price is gone for good! It's such a great deal, 4 patterns for $30 plus a valuable coupon book for ...Continue Reading
UNBIASED // The Adora Top
I'm continuing my week of Unbiased patterns with the Adora Top! This top is really cute- it has a front and back yoke, both are different shapes. The neckline is my favorite part, it has a large keyhole opening that is just perfect for a cute necklace. This pattern can be 100% knit or a combo of knit and woven, so I used muslin with a lace overlay for the woven parts. Lightweight knits are best for the rest of the pattern. I went for a neutral pallet with this top, so I can accessorize depending on the look I want. I collected ...Continue Reading
