This week I'll be sharing all of my looks from the Unbiased Pattern Collection! The collection comes as a bundle of 4 patterns (plus 2 bonus offers) until this FRIDAY! The price will go up at that point, so act quick! This is the Denver Top pattern, which is also a dress pattern. There are a few options on this one, I decided to do a top with a simple banded neckline. I made it in a stretchy houndstooth with pleather pockets! Since we're coming into cooler weather, I used the long sleeve pattern with a cuff. I love the fit of this ...Continue Reading
colored corner napkins and SNACKIES!
My parents always had cloth napkins around in our home growing up. It's such a brilliant money saving solution versus paper towel or actual disposable napkins and not to mention way cuter and GREEN! But sometimes I just forget that cloth napkins are a thing! So I made some, with solid colors to have around in case we have guests and no disposable napkins (that seems to happen a lot). I also have a cool new way to snack to share with you! These little bags are called Snackies from Thrive foods. I was sent a package to review AND they ...Continue Reading
Gallery Canvas Wall with SPOONFLOWER!
I'm excited to be a part of the Spoonflower Handbook tour today and to share a little corner of my home with you! The Spoonflower blog is a brand new book from Spoonflower that is full of sewing projects. It also breaks down fabric designing from start to finish, including specifics about formatting, etc. It's so inspiring and just chock-ful of sewing goodness! I decided to do one of their photo projects. I had 4 photos printed on Eco Canvas, sewed them up with a casing on the back. I used dowels to hang them up on my wall and I'm ...Continue Reading
Partial Button Placket Tutorial (and a pattern sneak peek!)
My newest pattern comes out Friday..I'm so excited to reveal this pattern! There are a bunch of options and it will be your fall capsule wardrobe staple! I can't stop making them. Tops and dresses, tops and dresses! It will be available in an awesome bundle so stay tuned for details! One of the options in the pattern is a partial button placket on the front. This is a working placket so you can button it up or wear something underneath and leave a button undone. It also makes the top/dress nursing friendly, if you need that! There ...Continue Reading
sherbet doll quilt tutorial & ruched corner binding technique!
Ever since I released the doll fabric panels, my kids have been playing with them constantly. They especially like to put them in our little doll bed, so I've been making doll blankets for them! This cute quilt is really simple and can be upsized for larger quilts. It's also the most basic kind of quilt I can think of--just a whole bunch of squares arranged in a diagonal pattern. I'm also sharing a technique I made up to avoid mitering corners! I'll show you how to round the corners and then use 1" (METALLIC!) binding with basting to gather ...Continue Reading

the CALLIE TOP SEWALONG // Sleeves, buttons and hem
Today we're finishing off the Callie Top sewalong! I have another finished Callie Top to share, too! This one is my current favorite, the fabric is so flowy and I love the black and white cat pattern. In case you missed it, here are the other sewalong posts: Day 1 (+ giveaway!) Day 2 After finishing the dart/ruffle, sew the back bottom piece to the back bodice top piece. It's just a straight seam. Be sure the straight side edge is in the center of the top. If you're setting in sleeve, do that ...Continue Reading
CALLIE TOP SEWALONG // ruffle + dart sandwich
Welcome to Day 2 of the Callie Top Sewalong! Today we're going to tackle the trickiest part of the Callie Top, the ruffle/dart. If you're sewing the Avery, it's just a ruffle sandwich, but the methods are pretty similar! Day 1: Choosing Fabric + $100 fabric giveaway! This pink Callie top is made from double gauze. It's a great choice for this pattern, I just love how flowy and soft the ruffles turned out. I bought this fabric from Miss Matatabi, it's reversible, too! The ruffle goes across the shoulder and eats up both the ...Continue Reading
pom pom pincushions
Long time no blog! I've been busy working on a few big projects, but this new fabric was the perfect excuse to break and make something fun and quick! I made a few Pom Pom pincushions. Sew Caroline sent me some of her new Happy Home collection fabrics, the colors are so happy and bright! I used them to make hexagon pom pom pincushions and then topped each one with a yarn pom pom. I don't know what is better than hexagons and pom poms! The best part of this is you can use up to 7 different fabrics for each pincushion! The top has 6 ...Continue Reading

SWITCH IT UP// DIY lace wedding dress and lace overlay tutorial
This post is sponsored by Ford as a part of the Switch it Up campaign. Ford has challenged me to "switch it up" and try something new! I didn't make my own wedding dress, which I don't necessarily regret. But I always thought it would be fun to make one, so I took this challenge as an opportunity to do it! It was the first thing that came to mind when I thought of doing something I had always wanted to try, just for the sake of doing something new. I've had the idea in my mind to use the Penelope Peplum pattern as a base for a ...Continue Reading
