I'm so excited for spring sewing so I thought I'd start on my spring wardrobe a little early. This top is a pink Penelope Peplum with a cap sleeve. The fabric is a tri-blend from Girl Charlee, it looks like they a sold out of this color(Chalk Red), but there are a few others to choose from. Tri-blend knits are SUPER soft. I used 1/4" elastic to gather the skirt on this top, which was really easy. Anyways, it's my new favorite top! ! re What is on your spring sewing list? (I need ideas!) ...Continue Reading
pattern fusion // zippy top turned DIY jumpsuit
I made this jumpsuit a few weeks ago and I have been living in it. It's soooo comfortable! I guess I never thought about how comfortable a jumper would be! And since it is made out of knit, it's extra comfy. I'm thinking I will get a lot of use out of this jumpsuit in the summer. The two patterns are my Zippy Top pattern and the Go To Patterns Go To Knit Pants, which ...Continue Reading

two-tone knotted pillow cover tutorial with Wanderer Fabric
April Rhodes sent me some of her pretty new fabric line, Wanderer. The fabrics are really unique and colorful, I thought they would be nice accent pillows so I sewed up these and made a knotted pillow cover tutorial! I had a really hard time picking fabrics to use because I love so many of the prints. There are a few knits and voiles, too! I ended up choosing 3 that I really loved and made them into 2 two-tone pillow covers with knotted corners. I used a different color or print for the backside of the pillow which is visible in the ...Continue Reading

Pleather Penelope Peplum with a zipper!
Say that 5 times fast! Pleather Penelope Peplum! I made this top back in October, and have been meaning to get a tutorial up for you! This top is made with a pleather material (plastic leather). It's a synthetic fabric that feels sorta plasticy and has a little stretch, but not enough to work for most knit patterns. This one is an off white color with little stars punched out. The stretch is about 10%, but the Penelope Peplum requires 30% to be able to get it on. So the solution is a zipper in the back. It's easy to do, so I'll ...Continue Reading
