A few days ago I shared the Pixie Dust Block Quilt tutorial and today I'll show you how to make a quilted pillow cover with the Pixie Dust Block! A quilted pillow cover is a perfect addition to living room decor, the quilting and piecing gives it some extra dimension and you also get to use lots of fabrics in one little project! This post is sponsored by Cricut. I've already told you about the Cricut Maker and it's amazing fabric-cutting (and marking!) abilities and even showed you how to cut a quilt block with it! But Cricut has taken this even further by partnering with Riley Blake to create QUILT KITS that correlate with a preloaded quilt pattern in Design Space. The Riley Blake Quilt Kits come with everything you need to complete the pattern you choose and comes in a cute little package! I've never used a quilt kit before so it was really fun to tackle this ...Continue Reading
Quilt of the Month // Pixie Dust Quilt Block
It's time for Quilt Block of the Month! Each month (or so..) I'm sharing a 10" by 10" quilt block that you can use to create an entire quilt, or sew 1 at a time to create a sampler quilt! Today's quilt block is called the Pixie Dust Quilt Block because it has a little bit of a pixie magical feel to it. There are 5 pieces in each quilt block and you use 5 different fabrics in the block. Each piece of fabric is a nice band that shows good amount of the fabric so you can use fabrics with a little bit of a bigger scale. I think this quilt pattern ...Continue Reading
Lip Quilt Pattern
The Lip Quilt Pattern is available now! This fun quilt is a great one to showcase favorite fabrics with bold patterns. The lips are appliqué and stitched on with a blanket stitch. My favorite part is the striped border made with Nail Polish Stripe! This pattern was designed in correlation with my new fabric line, Kiss Me, Kate, which starts shipping to stores in July! Since the fabric line isn't out yet, I also included a solid color way in the pattern, but you can also make up your own! Grab the pattern and get sewing! ...Continue Reading
Kiss Me, Kate Quilt Market Booth Tour!
My pregnant self and I went to Portland last weekend for Spring Quilt Market! It was a total blast, as always, but it was my first time presenting a fabric line in a booth. So, it was extra fun! It was also my first time at a Spring Quilt Market, in the past I have been to Fall which is always held in Houston. Quilt Market is a twice-a-year convention where fabric shop owners come to purchase new fabric lines! It is really a huge celebration of creativity and sewing that is always fun to be a part of. Like ComicCon for sewing nerds! In the ...Continue Reading
COFFEE CUP QUILT PATTERN {Free!}
It's finally back! I sent my Coffee Cup Quilt pattern off for quilting with Crinklelove and it's back and quilted! I love how novelty this quilt is. I designed it around Christmastime when I was drinking a LOT of hot chocolate with peppermint. Haha. That cup was just always sitting in my sewing room inspiring me. I don't drink coffee but I think coffee culture is hilarious. So it can also be a hot cocoa quilt. I'm thinking about making one with red cups and greens for Christmas next year! The Coffee Cup Quilt Block Pattern was a ...Continue Reading
free quilt block pattern // Makers Gonna Make Quilt Block
free quilt block pattern: Maker's Gonna Make Block It's Quilt Block of the Month time!! Instead of giving you a full quilt, I'm sharing this tiny little mini-quilt I made with this block. I love the simplicity of a quilt block and this one is super easy! Each QBOM is the same size - 10" by 10" so you can sew them all together, or mix and match them into a big quilt. Or you can just sew one and make it a little wall hanging or use it on another small sewing project. The whole idea behind starting a Quilt Block of the Month series was to ...Continue Reading
