I used my basic zipper pouch tutorial to finish the pouches, but I'll show you how to stencil onto the front ...Continue Reading

ruffled flower crown tutorial
If I were to get married today...I'd marry my husband again and then wear this ruffled flower crown, with 5 huge blooms and a lace dress. I'm loving crowns lately! If life were a fairytale I think we'd wear wedding attire everyday. I think that would be so fun. No corsets though, we gotta breath. But the headpieces! Yes! This is a little seventies and very whimsical. I hate the word whimsical, but it is, right? Cut your felt into 3" circles. You'll need 2 circles for each bloom. vanilla frosting shift dress tutorial
Don't these knit ruffles stacked all together look like frosting to you? Mmm.. I had to start getting creative with project names during the ruffle event. Usually I just name things pragmatically, like "ruffle shift dress." But everything was starting to be a "double ruffle this" or "triple ruffle that" so I had to be even more creative and give them cutesy names. I sometimes feel silly naming things this way, but I hope you like them. This is a simple technique you can do to any dress or blouse. All you need is some knit ...Continue Reading
tote bag refashion
Fashion Art Projects sent me a box of goodies to test out a little while ago. I couldn't figure out what to do with the blank totes but eventually I decided to cover this bright pink one with a huge ruffled flower. The magenta is really bright so I played it down with a plain white ruffle, made from lace. I used a glue gun to attach the ruffle. Since I started with a premade bag, this project was soo easy! Check out Fashion Art Projects on facebook. They have some other cool things like iron on rhinestones that I am itching to use. ...Continue Reading
