We love to watch Stranger Things so making this Eleven Halloween costume was so fun! Eleven’s costume is pretty simple to make – sew a pink dress or add a white collar to a store-bought pink dress.
This post also has simple instructions for Eleven’s striped crew socks! The pink dress with a white collar comes from Season 1 of Stranger Things and has become a pretty iconic Eleven outfit.

Eleven Peter Pan Collar Pattern
Download the pattern below – the pattern included is for a kids size 5. If you need it to be a little longer, just add more space at the top so the collar goes up to the front shoulder. If you need a larger pattern for an adult dress, just print the pattern out at a percentage higher than 100%.
You can attach this to a store bought plain pink dress (like this one for girls) or use it with the tutorial below.
Eleven Halloween Costume Collar
Cut 4 pieces of the peter pan collar from white fabric. Since this collar does not wrap all the way around the neckline, the fabric doesn’t need to be stretchy. Woven cotton fabric is much easier to work with for collars so I recommend a solid white quilting cotton.
Cut 1 side each collar from lightweight interfacing.
Fuse interfacing to one piece of each collar.
Place interfaced fabric on top of non-interfaced fabric with right sides together and sew together. Use a 1/4″ seam allowance. Clip the curved edges. Turn collar right side out and press flat. Repeat with the second one.
Set collar pieces aside.
Eleven Pink Dress with White Collar
Use the the Pippa peplum dress with the dress add-on pack as a base for Eleven’s dress. This pattern also comes in women’s sizes (the Penelope Peplum) so you can make this costume for adults, too.
If you prefer using woven fabric, the Olive and Olivia patterns are perfect for this costume!
Cut out the bodice pieces from the jersey fabric. On the front bodice, lay strips of stretch lace across to give the dress some dimension. The actual Eleven dress looks like it has shirring, but the stretch lace is an easy way to get that texture without shirring.
Use a wide zig zag stitch (about 3.5-4mm) to attach the lace to the bodice front.
Start at the bottom and overlap each strip of lace until you get to the top. Leave about 3/4″ at the bottom of the dress to attach the skirt to later.
After you have covered the front bodice with lace, sew with a zig zag stitch around the neckline and sides to keep the lace laying flat.
Then trim around the neckline and sides.
Baste the Peter Pan collar pieces to the top of the neckline of the bodice. Then finish the dress as instructed in pattern .The neckline finishes with a facing to give the collar a clean top.
Eleven Crew Socks DIY Tutorial
You may be able to use a pair of white socks you already have for this project. Use any fabric paint or acrylic paint and painters tape.
Fold the sock so that the front part is flat. Use 4 strips of tape to tape off the 3 stripes.
Paint the top and bottom stripes green and the middle stripes yellow.
Once dry, refold the sock to the back and tape again. Paint and let dry.
