Little projects that you can make with a scrap of fabric are some of my favorite things to make! After sewing so many clothes, I always have large scraps to work with! So here are 40 fat quarter projects that will get you started! Hopefully you can find some weekend sewing ideas in here!
All you need for these projects is a stack of fat quarters or a few scraps from your scrap box!
These easy projects are small items that make awesome gifts for neighbors and friends or even party favors. Fat quarter projects are fun to produce assembly line style and are a great excuse for a new fat quarter bundle. Dive into your fabric stash and let’s sew something cute!
What is a fat quarter of fabric?
A fat quarter is a quarter yard of fabric cut from a half yard, parallel to the selvage. That way you get a piece of fabric measuring about 18″ by 21″. A typical quarter yard of fabric off the bolt will measure about 9″ by 42″ so there are more project possibilities with a fat quarter.

These are so great! Thank you for rounding up so many ideas. I’m a fairly basic sewer (pillowcovers, aprons, etc) but I’d love to start doing more difficult things and getting more experience.
